16:07 in some storys the ars goetia were troops of lucifer in the war in heaven where lucifer wanted to take control over heaven. God and the other elder angels defeated lucifer and the ars goetia and got cast to hell. In that story of the heaven war the ars goetia are fallen angels like lucifer. I think the stairs are a refrence to that

It's important to remember that Imps like our main trio are considered the lowest class of demon, and are often treated as such by higher class hellborn species (If you rewatch the scene at the beginning of episode 2 when Stella and Stolas are fighting, note that Stella puts less emphasis on his infidelity and more on the fact that he slept with an _imp_) Stolas, on the other hand, as a Goetia, is demon royalty, with his family being one of the most powerful factions in all of Hell. I believe Blitzo has this heightened view of Stolas because (Some spoilers ahead, I'd read after at least the next episode) His self loathing runs so deep he feels fundamentally unworthy of Stolas, despite the latter's outward affection, which Blitzo denies himself by contextualizing it as a fetishization of their class differences, because he cannot fathom or accept the idea that Stolas actually, genuinely cares about him.

If you go by bible lore then original demon royalty would have fallen from heaven with Lucifer, and the hellborn demon royals are descended from them. So royal demons like Stolas are descended from angels, just like Charlie. Which would also be why angelic weapons are the only thing that can hurt them.

Stolas "never seen a real demon before?" Alistor "i would have done so already" same energy and my favorite scene to watch others react to. So bad ass!

Oh we were revealed so much about Blitzø in this episode and didn't realise it. Moxxie nailed it omg "why does it seem like a recurring thing? That you alienate with your toxic routine?" "I don't know! Eventually everyone goes!" "Cuz you're thoughtless and cruel and you'll end up alone!" 😢😢😢 And this was also the changing episode I think. Still has that funny, kind of "just to pass the time" vibe, but starts adding content and weight to the characters and the plot thickens. From here on, it escalates to a more complex and deeper story that none of us (who started it years ago as it aired or even new watchers) expected it would be. The world expanded as much as the characters development and growth. And that's awesome and talks a lot about how much love and care is put into it from everyone in the team.
